The remake of the cult-classic Roadhouse is now out on Prime Video. The film is a fun and silly action romp that won’t set the world of cinema on fire but will definitely give fans of 80s and 90s action flicks what they’ve been looking for. The film stars Jake Gyllenhall as a down-on-his-luck MMA fighter who is roped into handling the security for a bar out in the Florida Keys. As expected, he’s quickly pulled into a nefarious scheme involving gangsters and here’s where we get our first look at The Notorious Conor McGregor in his first film role. The Irishman plays bruiser Knox and if there’s one thing to be said about McGregor’s performance is that he’s pretty much playing himself.
If you’re a fan of big, dumb action movies that don’t require you to really use your brain, Roadhouse is just the film for you. Check out one of the best fight scenes between Jake and Conor in the video below.
